Savitribai Phule Pune University tops tally

In the ongoing Khelo India University Games in Odisha, Savitribai Phule Pune University was on top with 14 medals including seven gold and two silver medals on the fifth day on Tuesday.

Punjab University gave a tough competition by winning 18 medals including six gold and seven silver medals while Jain University, Karnataka claimed the third position with total of 12 medals including six gold and five silver medals.

2020 Khelo India Games

The third edition of Khelo India Youth Games was held in Guwahati from 10.01.2020 to 22.01.2020. These games had 20 sports disciplines in U-17 & U-21 age groups (Boys & Girls) 540 Talent selection/Short listing out of 6,130 No. of Participants

Khelo India Youth Games 2019

The Khelo India Youth Games 2019 were held from 9th to 20th January 2019 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge-Balewadi, Pune, with Maharashtra as the Host State. A total of 403 events were conducted across 18 sporting disciplines, with 379 individual events and 24 Team events. Maharashtra emerged the Overall Champions, followed by Haryana and Delhi. These Games had an overwhelming participation, comprising of more than 5925 athletes from all States/UTs, 1096 support staff, 893 Technical officials, 1021 Volunteers and 1500 officials from Central and State Governments. The KIYG Maharashtra 2019 was telecast live for 8 hours each day for 12 days on Star Sports & DD Sports. A Mass Athlete Awareness Programme against Doping in Sports was carried out by National Anti-Doping Agency during these Games, educating 3201 national level young athletes.  Moreover, 476 dope tests of the participating athletes were carried out.

Khelo India School Games (KISG), 2018

  • The first Khelo India School Games, 2018 were held between 31st January to 8th February, 2018. 3507 Players from 29 States and 7 Union Territories competed for 673 medals (199 Gold, 199 Silver and 275 Bronze medals).
  • Haryana (388 players), Delhi (359 players) and Maharashtra ( 331 players) were the states with the biggest contingents.
  • Support staff at KISG : 875 Coaches, 578 Managers
  • Technical conduct by 578 nationally and internationally certified Technical Officials.
  • Accommodation provided in various Hotels through M/s. Thomas Cook International:
  • 868 number of Volunteers participated
  • Approximately 550 Talents is to be identified during the Talent Identification process.
  • Overall championship Results:
  1. Haryana – 38 Gold, 26 Silver 38 Bronze: Total: 102 Medals
  2. Maharashtra – 38 Gold, 26 Silver 38 Bronze: Total: 111 Medals
  3. Delhi – 38 Gold, 26 Silver 38 Bronze: Total: 94 Medals
